Star Wars Jedi Veteran’s Dungeons & Dragons Game Has Been Canceled

Hasbro has cancelled a Dungeons & Dragons single-player action-adventure game in early development at Giant Skull, the studio founded by Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and God of War III director Stig Asmussen. The partnership between Hasbro subsidiary Wizards of the Coast and Giant Skull was announced in June 2025, but the publishing agreement was terminated before reaching the one-year mark.

Wizards of the Coast stated that the company “assess[es] concepts at every stage of development” and decided not to pursue the “early concept” from Giant Skull. The publisher emphasized its respect for Asmussen and the team, expressing that it values their ongoing relationship and remains open to future pitches from the developer.

This marks the second Dungeons & Dragons game cancellation in recent months, following Starbreeze’s decision to halt development on Project Baxter. While specific reasons beyond the project’s early conceptual stage were not disclosed, both Hasbro and Giant Skull confirmed the news, with no indications of conflict between the parties.
