Lords of the Fallen 2 set to potentially release on Steam as developer CI Games and Epic terminate PC exclusivity deal

CI Games and Epic Games have terminated their PC publishing and exclusivity agreement for the upcoming Lords of the Fallen 2, freeing the game from being locked to the Epic Games Store. The agreement, originally signed in June 2024, had granted Epic exclusive distribution rights for the game’s entire product lifecycle on PC. The termination was finalized on April 14, 2026, though CI Games did not publicly announce it until more than a month later.

The reason for the separation was not disclosed by CI Games in its investor note. However, the studio emphasized that the termination will not affect ongoing cooperation with Epic Games regarding Unreal Engine, Epic online services, Epic account services, or CI Games’ participation in the Fortnite ecosystem—all of which will continue under separate agreements.

Lords of the Fallen 2 is currently scheduled to launch in 2026 across multiple platforms. The game was previously announced last summer and showed gameplay footage at The Game Awards 2025. With the Epic exclusivity deal now dissolved, the game is now free to release on other PC platforms, most notably Steam, though no official announcements of such plans have been made yet.
