I love my Steam Deck, but I hate managing its pitiful storage size for games — with this 2TB SSD, however, I won’t have to manage it again for months
WD_Black’s SN770M 2TB SSD offers a practical storage expansion solution for gaming handheld owners, particularly Steam Deck and ASUS ROG Ally users. Currently available at Best Buy for $349.99, the drive directly addresses one of the Steam Deck’s most persistent limitations: its default 512GB internal storage capacity.
Modern AAA games have grown substantially in size, with many titles now exceeding 100GB individually. This expansion makes the Steam Deck’s base storage increasingly inadequate for players seeking to maintain a diverse game library. Users have traditionally resorted to tedious storage management—deleting games, freeing space, and reinstalling titles as needed to play new releases.
The WD_Black SN770M’s 2TB capacity significantly expands available storage, allowing players to maintain a much larger game library simultaneously and eliminating the frequent cycle of deletion and reinstallation. For handheld gaming enthusiasts, this upgrade represents a meaningful quality-of-life improvement, reducing interruptions and storage juggling across gaming sessions.
As game file sizes continue to increase with advancing graphics and content, expandable storage solutions like this SSD become increasingly necessary for handheld gaming platforms. The timing of this sale makes the upgrade financially accessible for Steam Deck owners seeking to mitigate the platform’s storage constraints, transforming the experience from one of constant management to extended periods without storage concerns.
