If gaming laptops are just too bulky for you and you’re desperate to burn an enormous hole in your wallet, the new Asus ROG NUC is surely a vision of your dreams
Asus has announced the ROG NUC 16, a new mini PC aimed at gamers seeking compact gaming performance. The system features Intel Arrow Lake HX processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50-series mobile GPUs, positioning it as a high-powered alternative to bulkier gaming laptops.
The latest ROG NUC shows minimal changes compared to its predecessor, sharing similar core specifications with the previous generation. The new model maintains the mini-PC form factor that the NUC platform is known for, targeting users prioritizing portability without sacrificing gaming performance.
Since Asus took over Intel’s NUC line, expectations existed for significant innovation in the platform’s direction. While the ROG NUC 16 delivers expected gaming hardware, the incremental upgrades and premium pricing have drawn criticism. The combination of modest improvements over the previous year’s model and the substantial cost appears to represent questionable value for potential buyers looking to upgrade their gaming setup.
