To address this data gap, Circana’s latest report blends confirmed digital data from cooperating publishers with estimates for companies that don’t share this information.
This hybrid approach creates measurement challenges for ranking games, particularly those where digital sales exceed physical. Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream has been identified as April’s best-selling title, though only its physical sales figures are confirmed; its digital performance is based on estimates. The estimation limitations for lower-ranked titles prompted Circana to release only a top-ten list this month, rather than the more comprehensive rankings the firm typically provides.
