Critical Role finally releases a full-scale map of Campaign 4’s main city, and I’m deeply jealous to not have their personal cartographer at my table

Critical Role has released an official, intricately detailed map of Dol-Makjar, the central city of Campaign 4’s world of Aramán. The map, created by Critical Role’s cartographer, is now available through the official Critical Role website in the Campaign 4 lore section after months of anticipation from fans.

Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan had been describing Dol-Makjar eloquently throughout the campaign’s first 25 episodes, but the actual visual representation had been notably absent—a gap the community had been hoping would be filled. Actor Taliesin Jaffe had previously confirmed to media that the map existed and was beautiful, and upon release, it lived up to expectations, with observers describing it as “absolutely ethereal.”

The detailed cartography serves the ongoing fourth campaign, which ambitiously features 13 players organized into three central groups: the Schemer’s Table (engaged in political intrigue within Dol-Makjar), the Soldiers (hunting threats against their faction), and the Seekers (searching for missing persons). The map release underscores Critical Role’s commitment to comprehensive world-building and provides essential visual reference material for the campaign’s narrative developments.
