Lords of the Fallen 2’s Epic Exclusivity Deal Canceled
In 2024, Polish developer CI Games signed an exclusivity agreement with Epic Games that would have made the Epic Games Store the sole PC outlet for Lords of the Fallen 2. The partnership has now been terminated, clearing the path for the game to release on other PC platforms including Steam.
CI Games publicly disclosed the separation through posting the separation agreement, which was finalized on April 14, 2026. The document provides limited explanation, stating only that disclosing the separation sooner would have “prejudiced the company’s legitimate interests.” The separation is characterized as “conditional in nature,” but neither party has revealed the underlying reasons for the termination.
The canceled exclusivity deal marks a significant shift in the game’s distribution strategy. Players can now expect Lords of the Fallen 2 to be available across multiple PC storefronts rather than exclusively on Epic’s platform. This development reflects broader industry debates over platform exclusivity agreements, as developers increasingly question whether exclusive deals limit market reach more than they benefit sales.
