Supercell reboots its lowkey monster hunting game Mo.co with seasons and (free) gacha pulls
Supercell is relaunching its monster hunting game Mo.co tomorrow with significant gameplay and monetization changes following months of teasing for “Neo Mo.co.” The relaunch introduces a new monthly season pass structure, free gacha pulls, new weapons, and various gameplay and meta adjustments.
Since its phased invite-only rollout launched in March 2025, Mo.co has accumulated approximately 8.5 million downloads and generated nearly $4.7 million in in-app purchase revenue, according to AppMagic estimates. The United States leads revenue generation at 26% of lifetime IAPs, followed by Germany (9%), France (8%), South Korea (5%), and Italy (4%).
The revamped season pass system introduces “weapon sprints,” a new progression mechanic through which players can earn additional in-game rewards. Alongside these monetization changes, the developers have implemented numerous gameplay refinements and meta tweaks to enhance the overall experience. This relaunch strategy suggests Supercell is attempting to revitalize player engagement and revenue potential following the initial soft launch period. The introduction of free gacha pulls indicates a shift toward more generous monetization practices, likely designed to attract and retain players in a competitive mobile gaming market.
