Former BioWare, Inflexion Games, and Timbre Games developers launch Studio Reset
Studio Reset, a new Canadian indie studio founded by veteran game developers, has officially launched. The studio was established by a team of former developers from BioWare, Inflexion Games, and Timbre Games, bringing significant experience on major franchises. The founding leadership includes creative director Kaelin Lavallée, design director Kris Schoneberg, and art director Francis Lacuna. Together, they have contributed to acclaimed titles including Mass Effect, Anthem, Dragon Age, and The Long Dark.
The studio is currently in development on a neon-noir supernatural mystery game. Studio Reset’s approach emphasizes a “smaller, more intentional” operating model, suggesting a focus on quality and creative vision over scale. This philosophy represents a shift from traditional large-studio development, appealing to veteran developers seeking greater creative autonomy and control over their projects.
The launch of Studio Reset reflects a broader industry trend of experienced developers forming independent studios to pursue smaller-scale, specialized projects. With the founding team’s extensive background on high-profile franchises, the studio possesses considerable industry experience and creative credentials despite its newly independent status.
