Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream tops April US sales | US Monthly Charts
Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream has emerged as the best-selling video game in the US for April 2026, generating over $41 million in combined physical and digital sales according to Circana data. The Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive life sim is now the ninth best-selling game of 2026 year-to-date.
April was a strong month for the gaming industry overall, with total US video game spending reaching $4.3 billion, representing 3% growth compared to April 2025. Game content spending specifically increased 2% month-on-month to $3.8 billion, while year-to-date content spending is up 3% to $16.7 billion.
Notably, consumer spending on new physical software surged 44% year-on-year to reach $96 million in April, with year-to-date physical software spending up 9%. This significant growth in physical sales was largely driven by Tomodachi Life’s strong launch performance.
Capcom’s new IP Pragmata claimed second place overall, performing particularly strongly on PlayStation platforms where it was the top seller, while also placing second on PC and third on Xbox. Other notable top performers included Crimson Desert, Pokémon Pokopia, and Saros. Circana’s figures include projected digital sales for Nintendo platforms, as the company does not publicly release monthly digital sales data.
