Ubisoft confirms new Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Ghost Recon games are coming before April 2029
Ubisoft has announced that new entries in three of its flagship franchises will launch by the end of its 2028-2029 financial year (March 2029). The company revealed the timeline in its latest financial disclosures, with Assassin’s Creed Hexe expected to arrive in 2027, alongside forthcoming Far Cry and Ghost Recon titles.
The announcement comes as Ubisoft faces significant financial challenges, reporting a record €1.3 billion operating loss in fiscal year 2025-2026. The company is banking on these major franchise releases to help restore profitability. Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Ghost Recon are considered among Ubisoft’s most important intellectual properties.
Assassin’s Creed Hexe will feature witchcraft-inspired themes and represents the next major entry in the long-running stealth-action series. The Far Cry franchise is particularly overdue for a new mainline installment, with Far Cry 6 being the last entry in 2021. Ghost Recon’s drought is even longer, with Breakpoint being the most recent mainline release in 2019.
Ubisoft’s projections indicate these releases will be distributed across the 2027-28 and 2028-29 financial years, providing a “significantly stronger and diversified content pipeline” for the publisher. The company views these three franchises as critical to its recovery strategy and return to profitability after recent years of financial strain.
