Fallout 4 on Consoles Will Soon Let You Add More Mods
Bethesda has announced a significant storage expansion for Fallout 4 mods across console platforms, arriving on May 27. The update substantially increases the space available for Creations—the game’s official modded content system—allowing players to download and use more mods, including larger and more ambitious creations.
The storage increases vary by platform. Xbox Series X and Series S will see the most dramatic jump, with Creations storage expanding from 2GB to up to 100GB—a 50-fold increase. PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 will each see their storage increased from 1–2GB to approximately 15GB. Xbox One will also receive the 15GB increase. These improvements address a long-standing limitation that has restricted the number and complexity of mods console players could use.
The expanded storage represents a substantial quality-of-life improvement for the console community, enabling creators to develop larger and more complex mods while giving players greater freedom to customize their game experience. This move also reflects Bethesda’s ongoing commitment to supporting Fallout 4, nearly a decade after its original 2015 release.
