Take-Two Says All Entertainment Properties Need Pre-Release Marketing, as the Wait for GTA 6 Trailer 3 Goes On
Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive have revealed that Grand Theft Auto 6’s long-awaited third trailer will not arrive until the summer marketing push begins. CEO Strauss Zelnick confirmed that GTA 6 marketing will not ramp up in full force until summer 2026, with the season officially beginning June 21.
This news disappoints fans who have waited an entire year since May 2025 for new GTA 6 content. The previous trailer, Trailer 2, itself arrived over a year after the initial reveal, making the gaps between reveals unusually lengthy for a major blockbuster title.
Despite the extended wait, Zelnick emphasized that all entertainment properties—regardless of how established or anticipated—require consumer engagement ahead of launch through marketing efforts. While he declined to specify whether the summer campaign would include Trailer 3, industry expectations suggest it will arrive as part of the broader push.
GTA 6 is widely regarded as the most anticipated entertainment property of all time, raising questions about whether such a hyper-publicized game could succeed without traditional pre-release footage. However, Take-Two’s position indicates the company believes consistent marketing communication remains essential, even for properties with unprecedented cultural awareness.
The confirmation provides fans with a concrete timeline for GTA 6’s marketing phase, offering expectations for significant new information in the coming months.
