Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX 3 Announced For Switch 2
Inti Creates has announced Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX 3 for Nintendo Switch 2, set to release in 2027. This marks the third installment in the high-speed 2D action series, continuing the adventures of protagonist Copen as he returns to his home world to face new threats.
The game introduces a fresh antagonistic force in the form of “iX Bearers,” mysterious otherworldly invaders that Copen must confront. While maintaining the classic fast-paced 2D action gameplay that defines the series, Luminous Avenger iX 3 brings several new mechanics and features to enhance the experience.
A significant addition is the introduction of a new weapon system featuring “Divide Edge,” a pair of twin energy swords that expand Copen’s combat options. Beyond weapons, the game introduces unprecedented levels of character customization through a feature called the “Code Customizer,” allowing players greater control over how they customize their character and approach the game’s challenges.
The announcement positions the series as a continued focus for Inti Creates on the Switch 2 platform, taking advantage of the new hardware to deliver an enhanced action experience.
