New LEGO Donkey Kong Set Teased by Nintendo on Social Media
Nintendo has teased an upcoming LEGO Donkey Kong set through a brief teaser posted on Nintendo Today. The announcement provides minimal details, featuring only the logos of LEGO and the Donkey Kong series alongside an image of a brick barrel rolling across a wooden surface.
This marks a significant expansion of the Nintendo and LEGO partnership, which began nearly six years ago with Super Mario-themed sets and has since evolved to encompass various Nintendo franchises. Donkey Kong has previously appeared in LEGO’s ecosystem through Super Mario and Mario Kart product lines, but this would represent the first dedicated LEGO Donkey Kong series.
Reports suggest that a LEGO Donkey Kong arcade cabinet set may launch in August, potentially following a similar format to the LEGO Pac-Man arcade cabinet released in 2023. Such a product would align with LEGO’s recent trend of recreating classic arcade experiences. The tease has generated considerable anticipation among fans and echoes community interest in the character, as demonstrated by fan submissions to the LEGO Ideas platform, which allows enthusiasts to propose and vote on potential sets.
Further details about the upcoming LEGO Donkey Kong release are expected in the coming weeks.
