Subnautica 2 interactive map

Polygon has created an interactive map for Subnautica 2 to address a critical navigation gap in the game. While Subnautica 2 lacks a built-in map feature, players normally rely only on scanner rooms that show nearby resources without providing an overall view of the ocean or important landmarks—a significant limitation when navigating the depths with minimal visual reference points.

The interactive map offers a satellite-style perspective of the game world, displaying comprehensive information essential for survival and progression. It marks the player’s starting location, major story locations, and critical resource points including necrolei cysts and conduit crystals. The map also identifies blueprint locations, abandoned habitats, fish species (useful for food planning and threat awareness), and data boxes separate from main story elements.

This community resource bridges the gap between the game’s limited scanner rooms and complete navigation awareness, allowing players to plan expeditions more strategically and locate essential materials more efficiently.
