Slow start for Rainbow Six and The Division on mobile as Ubisoft hits fiscal “low point”
Ubisoft has acknowledged that 2026 represents a “low point” for the company as it continues its ongoing turnaround strategy. The French publisher reported that two major mobile game launches—Rainbow Six Mobile and The Division Resurgence—have experienced disappointing starts in their respective markets.
During its latest financial results announcement, Ubisoft disclosed that both titles had “slower than expected” revenue performance. CFO Frédérick Duguet highlighted the underperformance during the earnings call, indicating that the company’s expectations have not been met in the mobile space.
Despite the slow launches, the development teams for both shooter titles remain committed to improving their performance. Ubisoft noted that the teams are actively working on strategies to broaden the audiences for Rainbow Six Mobile and The Division Resurgence, suggesting the publisher is treating these as long-term projects rather than writing them off.
The mobile gaming market has proven increasingly competitive for major franchises, and Ubisoft’s struggles with these launches come as the company navigates a broader restructuring period. The company’s acknowledgment of a “low point” suggests management expects conditions to improve, though the slow start of these two high-profile titles adds to the challenges facing the publisher during its transformation efforts.
