Marvel’s Wolverine PS5 Game Gets Cool Comic Book Cover Tribute
Insomniac’s upcoming PlayStation 5 exclusive Wolverine game is receiving a special tribute in Marvel Comics. A variant cover for Marvel’s current Wolverine comic series (Vol. 8, Issue #25 from writer Saladin Ahmed’s run) will be released later this year, featuring artwork directly from the PS5 game. The cover is designed as a document folder and includes Sony’s “For the Players” marketing slogan.
The cover design pays homage to a classic Wolverine comic from 1991 (Vol. 2, Issue #50), which featured a similar file folder aesthetic with Wolverine’s claws appearing to cut through the cover to reveal the artwork beneath. This creative callback connects the new game to comic book history while simultaneously serving as promotion for the forthcoming release.
The article indicates that fans can expect significant Wolverine-related announcements and content throughout the coming month, with reference to Sony’s upcoming summer State of Play presentation where additional details about the game are likely to be revealed.
