13 new games we can’t wait to play this summer
While Grand Theft Auto 6 has been delayed from its originally planned May 26, 2026 release date to November 2026, summer 2026 remains a robust period for gaming releases. In an alternate timeline, gamers would be preparing for GTA6’s launch heading into the holiday weekend. However, Rockstar has pushed the title back several months, and gamers will need to wait until fall for the next installment in the franchise.
Despite this high-profile delay, Polygon has compiled a list of 13 major games expected to launch over the summer months. The summer lineup features a mix of remakes and original titles. Among the original games generating anticipation are 007 First Light and Beast of Reincarnation. 007 First Light is scheduled to release on May 27, 2026, and will be available on PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X.
The article organizes the upcoming releases chronologically by confirmed launch dates, providing gamers with a clear roadmap of what to expect throughout the season. This structure helps players plan their gaming schedule and identify titles of interest despite the absence of one of the year’s most highly anticipated releases.
