Crimson Desert Update 1.08.00 Adds a Pond to Your Camp, a Cute Baby Wyvern as a Pet, and a Lot More

Crimson Desert has received its latest update, version 1.08.00, introducing several new features to Pearl Abyss’ single-player open-world adventure game. The update adds a pond to your camp at two locations—Howling Hill and Pauline Camp—allowing players to release collected fish into a dedicated “pond management mode.” A Baby Wyvern is now available as a new pet companion, with support for an additional 20 species of small animals expected.

The update also expands weapon options for the protagonist Kliff, adding muskets and shotguns to his arsenal. Quality-of-life improvements include a new function to silence tied-up outlaws, which developers note will significantly improve the bounty hunting experience.

Since its PS5 launch earlier in 2026, Pearl Abyss has demonstrated a commitment to frequent updates that rival live-service games in scope and frequency. The patch notes have evolved to include increasingly varied features—from gameplay mechanics to pet systems to environmental additions—suggesting the developer is prioritizing player engagement and content variety. This approach stands out in the single-player space, where post-launch support is less common than in multiplayer or live-service titles. The continued expansion of Crimson Desert’s systems and mechanics indicates Pearl Abyss is treating the game as a long-term platform despite its primarily single-player focus.
