We know precious little about Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3, but the trilogy lead just confirmed one of the series’ most controversial characters is coming back

Final Fantasy VII Remake’s third installment has no official name yet, but trilogy lead Naoki Hamaguchi has begun teasing details about the upcoming game. In an interview with Restart.Run, Hamaguchi confirmed that Chadley, one of the remake series’ most distinctive original additions, will return in Part 3.

Chadley, a Shinra materia researcher and lab assistant character, has been a polarizing addition to the remake. Despite being described as nice but irritating, Hamaguchi indicated that the character has gained a fanbase, stating “We understand that many fans are fond of Chadley.” The interview suggested discussion of whether Chadley might become a playable character in the final installment, though details remain limited.

The Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy continues Square Enix’s ambitious reimagining of the classic 1997 game, with Part 1 releasing in 2020 and Part 2 in 2024. The confirmation of Chadley’s return represents one of the first concrete details about Part 3’s content, as the company has kept most information about the final chapter under wraps.
