Don’t worry, GTA 6 is still planned for November, marketing push will begin this summer

Grand Theft Auto 6’s November 19, 2026 release date has been reaffirmed by Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick, putting to rest speculation about a third delay. The company confirmed that a major marketing push, including pre-orders, will commence this summer.

GTA 6 has faced multiple delays since its initial 2025 window announcement. The game was first pushed back to May 26, 2026, before being delayed again to November 2026. Despite these setbacks, Take-Two has maintained confidence in the franchise’s commercial potential.

The publisher’s optimism is backed by financial projections. Take-Two expects net bookings of $8 billion to $8.2 billion in fiscal year 2027 (ending March 31, 2027), a significant jump from the record $6.72 billion achieved in FY26—which already exceeded initial guidance by approximately $750 million. GTA 6’s launch is expected to drive this surge in revenue.

Take-Two’s fiscal 2026 performance demonstrated robust growth, with a 19 percent increase in both net revenue and net bookings. The company’s success was bolstered by multiple franchises, including NBA 2K and Zynga, alongside existing Grand Theft Auto titles.

GTA 5 continues to be a phenomenal commercial success, with the publisher reporting nearly 230 million units sold across three console generations since its 2013 debut. The game’s longevity—spanning PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 platforms—demonstrates the franchise’s enduring appeal, supported by the continued success of GTA Online.

GTA 6 is widely considered the most anticipated video game release in history, with over a decade having passed since GTA 5’s launch and eight years since Rockstar Games’ last major published title, Red Dead Redemption 2. The prolonged wait and significant development investment underscore industry expectations for a landmark release.
