Guide: Best Nintendo Switch 3D Platformers
Nintendo Life has updated its comprehensive guide to the best 3D platformers available on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. The guide compiles platform games spanning from retro-inspired throwbacks to modern entries in classic franchises like Mario and Sonic. Since Super Mario 64 established the gold standard for 3D platforming design, developers have continually attempted to capture that formula’s appeal. The updated list highlights Nintendo’s own Switch Mario game as a standout example, praised for achieving excellence within the genre. While the Switch boasts an extensive library of 2D platformers, the 3D platformer selection remains comparatively limited. The latest update adds fresh entries, honorable mentions, and games exclusive to the Switch 2, reflecting the growing catalog of 3D platformers developers have brought to Nintendo’s platforms. The guide serves as a resource for players seeking quality jumping and exploration experiences on Switch hardware.
