Vought Rising Teaser Takes Soldier Boy to 1950 as The Boys Spin-off Explores the World’s First Supes
Prime Video has unveiled the first teaser trailer for Vought Rising, a prequel series to the recently concluded superhero satire The Boys. Released at theatrical screenings of the Boys series finale on May 20, the trailer offers the first look at the origins of the Vought Cinematic Universe.
Set in 1950 New York, Vought Rising follows the creation of the world’s first superhero team, who gained their powers through V-One. The series features Jensen Ackles reprising his role as Soldier Boy—seeking recognition as a genuine hero—alongside Aya Cash as Stormfront and Mason Dye as Bombsight, a character established as Soldier Boy’s rival in The Boys season 5. The prequel explores how the Vought corporation’s early days and first superhero program eventually evolved into the corrupt megacorporation depicted in the main series.
The series is scheduled to premiere on Prime Video in 2027. The teaser showcases new superhero costumes and provides a nostalgic look at the 1950s era, laying groundwork for how these early heroes shaped the future of the Vought Cinematic Universe. The announcement marks Amazon’s continued expansion of the franchise following The Boys’ conclusion, delivering an origin story that explains the foundations of the superhero team central to the universe.
