Windows 11 tests new accessibility upgrades including screen tint and improved Braille support

Microsoft is expanding Windows 11’s accessibility capabilities through new testing initiatives within its Windows Insider Program. The company is introducing several important features designed to improve the computing experience for users with diverse accessibility needs. The updates include a new screen tint feature to reduce eye strain, improved Braille display support for visually impaired users, and enhancements to Voice Access for voice-controlled navigation. Additionally, changes to the Magnifier tool are being tested to provide better visual accessibility options.

These accessibility improvements are part of the broader Windows K2 initiative, a strategic effort aimed at revitalizing and enhancing the Windows 11 experience. The initiative reflects Microsoft’s ongoing commitment to making computing more inclusive by addressing various accessibility requirements for users with visual, auditory, and mobility needs.

The features are currently undergoing testing among Windows Insiders, who can opt into different build channels to evaluate new functionality. The restructured Windows Insider Program now enables more frequent testing builds to be released weekly, significantly accelerating the pace of feature validation and gathering user feedback from the community.
