Subnautica 2 Hotfix 2 Released With Resource Area and Hammerhead Fixes

Subnautica 2 has received its second hotfix since launching in Early Access, focusing on quality-of-life improvements and targeted fixes. The May 22 patch addresses resource area mechanics and adjusts the behavior of the Hammerhead creature, alongside general bug and crash fixes.

The game has exceeded expectations since its early access release, already surpassing its predecessor’s peak concurrent player count and selling over one million copies. Developer Unknown Worlds has committed to ongoing updates informed by player feedback, though the studio has intentionally avoided setting hard deadlines for future patches. The team prioritizes maintaining development flexibility over external pressure, allowing them to focus on quality and player experience.

Additional changes based on community feedback are currently in development and will be released as they become ready. The studio has outlined a general roadmap for the game’s progression, though specific timelines remain open-ended.
