The next Kingdom Come game comes out sooner than you think, is an open-world RPG
Warhorse Studios has officially confirmed that its next Kingdom Come project will be an open-world RPG, dispelling recent confusion among fans. The clarification followed a May 21 teaser that mentioned both “a new Kingdom Come adventure” and a separate “open-world Middle-earth RPG.” The ambiguous wording had sparked speculation about whether the new entry would maintain the series’ established RPG format.
Tobias Stolz-Zwilling, Warhorse Studios’ Communications Director, quickly addressed fan concerns during a livestream following the announcement, confirming that the next Kingdom Come title will indeed be an open-world RPG. The game is scheduled to launch during Embracer Group’s next fiscal year, indicating a relatively near-term release window.
The Kingdom Come franchise, known for its historical authenticity and immersive medieval settings, has built a dedicated following since its initial release. This announcement confirms the series will continue with its core RPG gameplay and open-world design, reassuring players concerned by the unclear initial messaging. Alongside the Kingdom Come project, Warhorse Studios is also developing a separate open-world RPG based on The Lord of the Rings intellectual property.
