Rumour: Dragon Quest Has Multiple Major Reveals Lined Up for Its Big Day This Week
Dragon Quest Day is set for May 27, 2026, marking a major occasion for the long-running franchise: its 40th anniversary. According to reports from fan discussions on Reddit, Square Enix has quietly uploaded eight unlisted videos to its official Dragon Quest YouTube playlist, sparking speculation about significant announcements planned for the milestone celebration.
The discovery of these unlisted videos, which were added recently, has fueled expectations that the company is preparing multiple reveal trailers for the Dragon Quest Day event. The most anticipated reveal is expected to be a re-introduction of Dragon Quest 12: The Flames of Fate, the main series entry that has been notably absent from public communication for an extended period.
Beyond the confirmed speculation about Dragon Quest 12’s re-reveal, reports suggest additional announcements are in the works, though specific details remain unclear. The combination of the franchise’s significant anniversary milestone and the presence of multiple prepared videos indicates Square Enix is planning a substantial showcase for the occasion.
Dragon Quest Day has historically been the franchise’s primary opportunity to share news and updates with fans, but this year’s event appears poised to be particularly notable given the 40-year milestone and the breadth of content apparently being prepared for announcement.
