Exodus: The Helium Sea gets first chapter preview — read it
“Exodus,” the upcoming space RPG from Archetype Entertainment that has drawn comparisons to Mass Effect, is expanding its universe across multiple media formats ahead of its 2027 release. The game’s transmedia ecosystem already includes a Prime Video “Secret Level” episode, a tabletop RPG adaptation, and a novel duology authored by acclaimed science fiction writer Peter F. Hamilton.
The second novel in the series, “Exodus: The Helium Sea,” is launching this summer, continuing directly after the events of Hamilton’s 2023 novel “Exodus: The Archimedes Engine,” which spanned nearly 1,000 pages. Hamilton’s characteristic narrative style—featuring multiple perspectives and intricate, layered storytelling—continues in the new installment.
The strategy of building out Exodus’s world through literature, tabletop gaming, and premium streaming content prior to the game’s launch demonstrates an ambitious transmedia approach to franchise development, establishing the universe and lore across formats to build audience engagement before the core product’s release.
