Faker and T1 Qualify For LoL Esports World Cup 2026
Reigning League of Legends World Champions T1 have secured their spot at the 2026 Esports World Cup after winning the Korean regional qualifiers. The team swept through the competition, defeating HANJIN BRION and BNK FEARX before clinching a 3-1 victory over Dplus Kia in the Upper Bracket final.
T1 finished third at last year’s Esports World Cup and will aim to improve on that result at this year’s $2 million tournament. The team’s qualification was highlighted by an exceptional comeback in Game 4 against Dplus Kia. Despite DK holding a 6,000 gold lead and being at Soul point 31 minutes into the game, T1 staged a dramatic turnaround, clinching victory just seven minutes later. Mid-laner Faker’s flash Tibbers proved crucial in winning the decisive teamfight at Dragon.
With this qualification, T1 continues to demonstrate their dominance in competitive League of Legends, preparing for the main tournament later in 2026.
