Tetris 99’s Latest Crossover Event Celebrates Yoshi’s New Game, Unlock A New Theme
Nintendo is bringing a crossover event to Tetris 99, its popular Switch Online battle royale title, to celebrate the launch of Yoshi and the Mysterious Book on the Switch 2. The 54th cup event for Tetris 99 will run from May 29 to June 1, 2026, and features special rewards inspired by the new Yoshi game.
Players who earn 100 event points during the event period can unlock an exclusive theme for Tetris 99, complete with unique artwork, music, and Tetrimino designs themed around Yoshi and the Mysterious Book. The crossover demonstrates Nintendo’s strategy of driving engagement across its gaming ecosystem by connecting live-service titles with major new releases.
To participate in the event, players will need a Nintendo Account and an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription. For those interested in trying the new Yoshi game itself, Nintendo has made in-store demos available across North America, allowing potential customers to experience the game before purchasing for the Switch 2.
