PS Plus Extra and Premium Get Destiny 2 on the Same Day Its Final Content Update Is Released

Sony has announced that Destiny 2: Legacy Collection will join PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium tiers on June 9, 2026, coinciding with the release of the game’s final live-service content update. The Legacy Collection includes the base Destiny 2 game alongside multiple expansion packs, including The Final Shape, The Witch Queen, Nightfall, as well as weapon packs from Beyond Light, Shadowkeep, and Forsaken.

The timing marks a significant moment for the franchise, as Bungie announced last week that it is ending active development on Destiny 2 after more than a decade of live-service support. The final update will close out the game’s live-service model, effectively concluding the Destiny era that began in 2014.

The addition to PlayStation Plus is part of Sony’s Days of Play event, a biannual celebration featuring game discounts, accessories sales, new game trials, and PlayStation Tournaments. By making the comprehensive Legacy Collection available to subscribers on the same day as the final update, Sony is making it easier for players to access the complete experience as the live-service chapter of Destiny 2 comes to a close.
