One Of Sony’s First PS5 Exclusives Is Now Delisted, Multiplayer Shut Down

Destruction AllStars, a PlayStation 5 exclusive developed by Lucid Games, has been delisted from the PlayStation Store and its multiplayer servers have been shut down. Originally announced in 2020 as one of Sony’s first PS5 games and initially slated as a launch title, the game instead became a PlayStation Plus freebie when it released in 2021.

Sony has removed the game from sale and ceased its multiplayer services due to “ongoing technical issues,” according to notifications issued to players. The shutdown occurred with minimal advance notice—unusual for live-service game closures, which typically provide players advance warning and a final play period. The game’s social media account has been inactive since 2022, suggesting a prolonged period of decline.

Destruction Points, the game’s premium currency, have been removed from sale, though players may redeem remaining currency until November 25, 2026. The arcade mode—the game’s single-player component—will remain playable for existing owners through that date, after which full server shutdown will occur. Sony cautioned that “functionality and player experience may be impacted” following the November deadline.

Despite mixed critical reception, Destruction AllStars had maintained a player base among PlayStation Plus subscribers who received it free during its initial year. The delisting marks the end of what was positioned as a flagship launch-window title for PlayStation 5, illustrating the significant challenges live-service games face in maintaining long-term player interest and commercial viability.
