EA FC 26’s World Cup Game Mode Receives Official Release Date
EA Sports announced that EA FC 26 will receive a World Cup-themed game mode called The World’s Game, launching on June 4, 2026, just ahead of this summer’s FIFA World Cup tournament. The new mode introduces an international tournament experience featuring 48 national teams and new authentic stadiums built specifically for the game.
Although EA does not hold the official licensing rights for the FIFA World Cup tournament itself, the company has created what it considers the closest authentic playable World Cup experience available to players. The announcement was made through PlayStation’s latest Days of Play blog post and appears in the platform’s June PlayStation Plus games line-up, indicating the content will have broad accessibility to players.
The World’s Game represents a significant content update for EA’s football simulation franchise, bringing international competition into focus alongside the game’s existing club-based modes. The inclusion of 48 teams and dedicated stadiums suggests a comprehensive tournament structure, allowing players to lead their national sides to victory in what could be the most immersive World Cup gaming experience available in the current market.
The June 4 launch date positions the update perfectly ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, letting players experience virtual international competition in parallel with the real tournament.
