James Bond Meets Khaby Lame in 007 First Light
James Bond will encounter social media influencer Khaby Lame in IO Interactive’s upcoming game 007 First Light. Lame is known for his deadpan TikTok reaction videos featuring an exasperated hand gesture that mocks things presented as obvious. In the game, Bond asks Lame for directions while standing in front of a signpost, prompting his signature gesture in response.
The cameo has surprised James Bond fans both for Lame’s inclusion and because the reveal came ahead of the game’s general release, eliminating the surprise factor of discovering his appearance during gameplay. The scene takes place during a Vietnamese resort sequence where Bond must locate three specific individuals scattered around poolside bars and villas. When Bond approaches a man at a directory to request directions, the man looks at the signpost—which displays the answer—and responds with Lame’s iconic exasperated hand gesture.
007 First Light features a star-studded cast including Patrick Gibson, Gemma Chan, and Lenny Kravitz, with these surprise cameos adding to the cinematic experience. The game represents IO Interactive’s take on the James Bond franchise with a focus on narrative-driven gameplay.
