Skyblivion’s gorgeously revamped Ayleid ruins are all done and dusted, the folks behind the Oblivion Remake mod have announced

Skyblivion, the ambitious community-led remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion within Skyrim, has reached a major milestone. The development team announced they have completed and fully quality-assured all revamped versions of Oblivion’s Ayleid ruins—ancient structures representing significant locations throughout the original game’s landscape.

The team celebrated this achievement on social media, noting that completion of these Ayleid Empire locations represents substantial progress toward recreating the entire Oblivion experience in Skyrim’s engine. The revamped ruins showcase modernized visuals and architecture befitting the newer game’s technology and aesthetic standards.

While this marks considerable progress, the project remains without a confirmed release date following a delay announced last year. The Ayleid ruins represent one component of a much larger undertaking—fully remaking Oblivion’s expansive world with improved graphics, redesigned dungeons, and refined gameplay mechanics within Skyrim’s framework.

The Skyblivion project demonstrates the dedication of the modding community and their ability to undertake massive collaborative efforts. Completing and quality-testing entire dungeon systems requires substantial coordination across numerous modelers, designers, and testers to ensure consistency and quality throughout the restoration.
