PS5 exclusive Destruction AllStars shut down after five years

Destruction AllStars, a PlayStation 5 exclusive vehicular combat game, has been shut down after five years of operation. The title, developed by Lucid Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, has been removed from the PlayStation Store, with all live-service features and online multiplayer functionality taken offline.

Originally delayed from its planned 2020 launch window, Destruction AllStars released in February 2021. The game was initially positioned as a premium $70 launch title for PlayStation 5 but was reduced to $20 following a PlayStation Plus promotional period in an effort to attract and sustain player engagement.

While the shutdown ends the game’s competitive online ecosystem, single-player modes will remain playable until November 25, 2026. After that date, all remaining arcade modes will be removed, rendering the game entirely unplayable. The shutdown represents another casualty in the live-service space, where maintaining a sustainable player base has proven challenging for many titles despite pricing adjustments and platform subscription support. Lucid Games, the game’s developer, is now owned by Tencent.
