Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang says the company plans to invest around $150,000,000,000 in Taiwan each year, describing the country as the ’epicentre of the AI revolution'
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang announced a major expansion of the company’s operations in Taiwan, describing the country as the “epicentre of the AI revolution.” The company plans to invest approximately $150 billion annually in Taiwan, representing a dramatic increase from its current spending of $10–15 billion per year.
As part of this expansion, Nvidia will build new corporate headquarters in Taiwan. The headquarters project is planned to cost $5 trillion and is expected to create around 4,000 jobs. This substantial commitment underscores Taiwan’s critical importance to the global semiconductor and artificial intelligence industries.
Huang made these comments during a launch event in Taipei announcing the new headquarters project. The announcement reflects Nvidia’s strong confidence in Taiwan’s position as a technological hub and its commitment to deepening ties with the region. The timing coincides with competitive developments from AMD in the semiconductor industry.
This investment represents roughly a tenfold increase in Nvidia’s annual Taiwan spending, emphasizing the company’s strategic focus on the region. Taiwan’s status as a global leader in semiconductor manufacturing and its integral role in AI supply chains make it central to Nvidia’s future growth plans.
