The Nvidia Control Panel is no more, an ex-control panel, kicked the bucket, run down the curtain and joined the choir invisib… okay, it’s being retired
Nvidia has announced the retirement of its classic Control Panel after 20 years of service. The legacy graphics settings and driver management tool will be phased out from future Game Ready and Studio Driver releases, ending its long run as the primary way PC gamers and professionals have adjusted Nvidia GPU settings and performance parameters.
However, the retirement is not immediate for all users. Nvidia has stated that the Control Panel will continue to receive support for RTX Pro customers—professionals using Nvidia’s workstation graphics cards—until the company has fully migrated professional-specific features to its newer Nvidia app platform.
The move represents Nvidia’s gradual transition away from its aging Control Panel interface toward the modern Nvidia app, which serves as the company’s contemporary alternative for driver and graphics settings management. Users currently relying on the Control Panel for gaming or professional work will eventually need to shift to the Nvidia app or other third-party solutions.
