The Outer Worlds has been delisted, but players can carry saves into Spacer’s Choice Edition on Game Pass

The Outer Worlds has been delisted from major digital storefronts as it’s being replaced by The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition. The original game and its DLC content have been removed from Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC storefronts including Steam, Epic Games, and GOG. However, the game remains available on older platforms including Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch.

To ease the transition for existing players, Obsidian Entertainment has confirmed that save files from the original The Outer Worlds will carry forward to Spacer’s Choice Edition, allowing players to continue their progress in the new version. The developer released a comprehensive Q&A addressing player concerns about the delisting, save transfers, and other upgrade-related questions.

The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition is now the primary version available on modern platforms and is included with Game Pass, making it accessible to subscribers. This move represents a common industry practice where publishers retire older versions in favor of enhanced remasters or re-releases, though it raises questions about long-term access to legacy game versions.
