Standout PS5 Horror Title Perceptum Could Be Something Special

Duck Reaction’s upcoming horror game Perceptum is designed around psychological discomfort and uncertainty. The PS5 title casts you as a Medium investigating the mysterious disappearance of a family in an abandoned house—a case that police have already given up on investigating.

Your primary tool throughout the roughly three-hour experience is a pocket mirror, which you’ll use to reveal secrets and communicate with the ghosts haunting the house. Rather than featuring combat or defensive mechanics, Perceptum emphasizes psychological horror by making players feel constantly watched and vulnerable. The game is built around the unsettling premise: “Ever get the feeling you’re being watched?”

According to Duck Reaction, the game focuses on creating feelings of “discomfort, uncertainty, and the sensation that something is always just out of sight.” With no way to fight back against the supernatural forces you encounter, the experience aims to maintain a persistent state of dread and tension throughout. Perceptum is scheduled to release on PlayStation 5 in 2027.
