Arc Raiders wins Nordic Game of the Year at the Nordic Game Awards
Arc Raiders, the extraction shooter from Embark Studios, has been crowned the winner of Nordic Game of the Year at the Nordic Game Awards, held on May 28 in Malmö, Sweden. The game’s recognition extends beyond the top category, as it also claimed victories in the best audio and best technology awards.
The Nordic Game of the Year category featured five notable contenders: Arc Raiders, Battlefield 6, Dune: Awakening, Split Fiction, and My Winter Car. Arc Raiders’ triumphant sweep reflects strong industry recognition of the game’s technical achievement and audio design.
Split Fiction proved to be a competitive presence at the ceremony, earning four nominations overall but securing victory only in the Best Game Design category. Battlefield 6, despite receiving three nominations, failed to win in any of its nominated categories.
The awards ceremony demonstrated a strong showing for the Nordic game development region, with Swedish studios claiming five of the seven total awards presented. This reflects the continued strength and innovation of Nordic game development, with Arc Raiders serving as a flagship example of the region’s technical and creative capabilities.
