Epic Games Store’s mystery games have been revealed and they’re free for a week
Epic Games Store revealed its mystery free games for this week, departing from its usual practice of announcing selections a week in advance. The company has been keeping its free game offerings a surprise for the past couple of weeks.
The two free games available for a limited time are Calico and Lonestar, both positively rated PC titles.
Calico is a town management game where players rebuild and operate a cat cafe. The game features customization mechanics, allowing players to decorate the cafe with furniture matching their preferred style. Interactive cats can be named, played with, and followed around as they explore the cafe. The game has been well-received by cat-loving players, earning nearly 2,700 “Very Positive” reviews on Steam.
Lonestar is the second free offering in this week’s promotion, though detailed information about this title was not included in available source material.
This surprise-based approach to announcing free games represents a notable shift in Epic Games Store’s strategy, potentially designed to generate increased engagement and excitement around its free offerings.
