Modern Warfare 4 cover leak supports Korea rumours, with Switch 2 release reportedly planned

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 has been officially teased by Activision following earlier leaks, with evidence pointing to a Korean Peninsula setting for this year’s installment.

A leaked cover image published by reliable leaker Billbil-kun revealed key art featuring the Korean numeral for four (사), corroborating prior rumors that the game’s campaign will take place in South and North Korea. Activision subsequently went live with a cryptic broadcast on the official Call of Duty YouTube channel, amplifying speculation about the reveal.

The official broadcast shows body camera footage of soldiers exploring an urban Korean city, with atmospheric elements including sirens, static, and scenes of destruction. The livestream title, “Camera 004 | LIVE,” is displayed in Korean, further reinforcing the setting. Hidden date codes within the broadcast—26-06-07 and 04-13-26—appear to reference the June 7 Xbox Games Showcase and potentially spell “DMZ,” an extraction game mode in the franchise. Footage also includes a timestamp of October 28, 2026, which may indicate the game’s release date.

With major gaming events scheduled for the coming week—including Microsoft’s Xbox Games Showcase, PlayStation’s State of Play, and Summer Game Fest—an official reveal of Modern Warfare 4 is expected imminently. The Xbox Games Showcase on June 7 appears to be the most likely venue. The title is also reportedly planned for Switch 2 release.
