Samsung ups its 4K QD-OLED gaming monitor ante with impressive new 360 Hz, RGB-stripe, HDR 600 panel
Samsung has announced a new 4K QD-OLED gaming monitor panel that represents a significant leap forward in display technology for gaming applications. The 32-inch panel features a 360 Hz refresh rate, nearly 50% higher than the previous 240 Hz maximum that has been the standard ceiling for OLED monitors from both Samsung and its main competitor LG. This substantial refresh rate increase is particularly valuable for competitive and fast-paced gaming. Beyond refresh rate improvements, the new panel introduces a true RGB-stripe subpixel structure and achieves HDR True Black 600 certification, making it the first consumer OLED monitor panel to reach this HDR performance level. The panel also supports 680 Hz at 1080p through dual-mode functionality, providing even higher refresh rates at lower resolutions for esports and competitive gaming scenarios. These improvements address long-standing limitations in OLED monitor technology, combining enhanced responsiveness with superior visual quality, color accuracy, and HDR performance—potentially setting a new standard for premium gaming displays.
