One of Fallout 4’s best and biggest new mods just came to Xbox thanks to Bethesda’s storage increase update — it’s basically a whole new DLC expansion

Fallout 4 has received a substantial mod storage increase update on consoles, removing a major barrier that had previously limited the types and sizes of mods available to console players. Before the update, console players had only 1GB of storage available for mods, severely restricting which community-created modifications could be installed.

Following the patch, storage allowances have increased dramatically: Xbox Series X|S users now have access to 100GB for mods, while Xbox One, PS5, and PS4 players can allocate 15GB of their storage to modding. The update enables one of Fallout 4’s most celebrated mods to come to Xbox—a modification so expansive it functions essentially as a complete DLC expansion in its own right.

The storage increase demonstrates publisher commitment to supporting the modding community across console versions and extends the lifespan of the 2015 open-world RPG on current-generation hardware. Platform-specific restrictions on last-generation hardware have impacted the scope of the increase on certain consoles.
