Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era is getting a roguelike mode, a Thieves Guild, and a sprawling underworld with unique terrain

Unfrozen has announced significant upcoming content additions for Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era, their early access strategy RPG. The developer plans to expand the game with multiple major features designed to deepen both gameplay systems and world exploration.

Key additions include a roguelike mode that will provide players with randomized runs and increased replayability, as well as a new Thieves Guild system that appears to serve surveillance and espionage functions within the game world.

The most substantial expansion involves the introduction of a persistent netherworld—a sprawling underworld realm stretching beneath the mountains and valleys of the existing overworld. This underground environment will feature unique terrain and geography distinct from surface areas, creating a separate exploration space for players to discover.

Unfrozen is also introducing powerful new creatures to inhabit these regions, including lich dragons and other fearsome entities designed to pose significant combat challenges.

These additions demonstrate the developer’s commitment to expanding Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era during its early access phase, with development focused on enriching mechanical systems and the broader world-building elements.
