Joe Marsh Extends Time as T1 CEO to 2029
Joe Marsh’s contract as CEO of T1 (formally SK Telecom CS T1) has been extended through March 30, 2029, the organization announced following board approvals. The T1 board held a meeting on March 16 to discuss the renewal proposal, with the motion subsequently passing on April 3. The extension ensures Marsh will complete a full decade leading T1, one of esports’ most celebrated League of Legends championship organizations.
Marsh assumed the CEO role following the 2018 merger between SK Telecom T1 and Comcast Spectacor, where he previously served as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Chief Business Officer (CBO). His appointment brought business expertise to the historic esports franchise, and his continued leadership through 2029 represents significant organizational stability during a pivotal period for competitive gaming.
The contract renewal arrives shortly after T1 announced a major milestone: the organization achieved profitability for the first time in its history. This financial achievement reflects the organization’s successful management strategy and growth trajectory under Marsh’s tenure, suggesting the board’s confidence in his continued leadership through the end of the decade.
