Lego’s new Pokémon card set ideas are so good, we need ’em all

Lego and The Pokémon Company are collaborating to bring Pokémon-themed Lego sets to market through Lego’s fan-driven Ideas program. Five finalist designs are now open for community voting, each created to resemble 3D versions of Pokémon Trading Card Game cards. The finalists represent the strongest designs from an initial pool of 756 fan submissions. The featured Pokémon include well-liked characters such as Gyarados and Joltik, alongside legendary Pokémon like Mew and Arceus, with Rowlet serving as the sole starter Pokémon representation. The Lego Ideas platform operates on a democratic model where fans submit custom brick designs and the community votes on which should become official Lego products. Each finalist set includes commentary from its designer detailing the construction process and creative motivations. The integration of Pokémon into Lego’s lineup demonstrates the continued cross-platform appeal of the Pokémon franchise and Lego’s commitment to engaging fan creativity in product development.
