Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream is 2026’s top new release by revenue to date | Newzoo charts
Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream has emerged as the top-grossing new release in 2026 to date, according to Newzoo’s revenue rankings. The social simulation title also topped Newzoo’s overall console revenue chart for April, establishing itself as a commercial success in the early year.
Nintendo’s established Switch install base contributed significantly to the game’s strong performance. According to Circana data, Living the Dream’s launch increased US consumer spending on new physical software by 44%, a substantial lift that demonstrates the title’s market impact.
The April releases also featured other notable performances. Capcom’s Pragmata entered the top 10 on both Newzoo’s console and PC revenue charts following its April 17 launch. Newzoo attributed this performance to the new IP’s “differentiated gameplay dynamics.”
Additionally, Windrose debuted in third position on the PC revenue chart, contributing to what appears to be a strong month for new releases across platforms.
These results highlight the continued commercial strength of Nintendo’s platform ecosystem and demonstrate that new intellectual properties from established publishers can achieve significant revenue success with distinctive gameplay offerings and strong market positioning.
